Tribal Gathering 97

The last “big” event carrying the Tribal Gathering name.

Allegedly, Kraftwerk played one of their best live gigs in this event. I do remember listening to the bootleg six or seven years ago, and liking it as much as the studio albums.

The “License Granted” was probably to assure festival goers the event would not be raided by the police – a common occurrence after the highly controversial 1994 Criminal Justice and Public Order Bill, which included legislation (points 63 to 66) to outlaw Raves, or, as written in the document, sounds wholly or predominantly characterised by the emission of a succession of repetitive beats.
